Mom's Birthday

Mom's birthday was May 19th, so she and dad went to a restaurant in Livingston while Aunt Mauray baby-sat us. Aunt Mauray always brings all kinds of really cool stuff. This time, she brought a mini garden tray and seeds that we could plant. She brought cucumbers, yellow squash, zucchini and a tomato plant. We all had a really fun time planting!

We also made "Mankillers", which are cucumbers with apple cider vinegar and sugar. They are so good, but I know why they call them "Mankillers"!!!!

Here is the gift basket that Aunt Mauray gave Mom for her birthday.

When mom and dad came back from the restaurant (The Rib & Chop House) in Livingston, they said it wasn't the best restaurant they have been to (and the music was turned up all the way, plus it was the radio kind with all the commercials...).

On Sunday, after Church we went up to the Mammoth playground outside of the old school (now turned into the Mammoth Community Center ) to have a picnic lunch. It was really fun, because it was so pretty and sunny. Dad, Bennett, Preston and Fiona climbed up a big hill after we had lunch. We were all surprised by Fiona and how she climbed up the huge hill with clickety Church shoes!!

Fiona came in from getting soaked by the rain today, and she looked really cute with her Swiss yodeler hat on!

A big package of books arrived in the mail today from Grandma. We were all excited because it is pouring down rain and books are perfect for a day like this! Preston got glasses in a kit that he is wearing right now (he loves them!).

Last night we had Strawberry Shortcakes for dessert and Matilda was eyeing Bennett's. She kept smiling at it!!

Going to see the horses with the Meyers

On Thursday, I got invited to go join a Parelli class with my friends, Alison and Megan. Parelli is a natural way to train and discipline a horse. A lady named Linda, came and taught us. She demonstrated by using Megan as a horse. ;)  Here is an official website about Parelli.

Gambler runs to meet Alison in the field when he sees her.

Everybody loves Gambler!

Mrs. Meyer brings Dollar to the fence to tie him up.

Cowboy and Megan (with Dollar's mane!).

Megan loves Cowboy; Cowboy loves Megan!

Grooming them:

Alison put a hairband in Gambler's mane! He looked really cute.

This is a new Braid Knot I learned while I was there. I thought it was really cool!

Learning Parelli (I got to work with Gambler and Cowboy!).

The barn was really pretty!

After the class, Alison and I took a walk down to the pond. It was a really hot day!

Jingles thought it was weird that I was taking a picture of him from the ground....;)

Gambler was the same way!

On Friday, we all went down to the beach because it was 70 degrees! We all wore our swimsuits down there, because Mom knew we were all going to get wet and sandy. The river is really high and muddy right now because of the Spring snow melt.  It was really fun!

Bennett was digging a hole in the ground so that he could sit in it and bury himself in sand!

Bennett's finished project:

When we got home, Fiona was so tired, that she fell asleep while reading Good Night, Gorilla!

Our first White Bush Blossoms bloomed a couple of days ago on the bush right outside the boys' bedroom window.  We call it the "bee bush" bee-cause it attracts so many bees.  They are so pretty!
