My New Camera!!!!!!

Grammie and Poppie's good friends, Vicky and Carey Martin gave them a D40 Nikon camera to give to me for Christmas. Grammie and Poppie had it tuned up through Nikon and then sent it to me. I am soooo grateful for this generous gift...it is something I have always wanted!!!!

Matilda's Birthday Party!

For one of my 4H projects (I do shooting sports, photography, sewing and cooking) I had to throw a party. Tilly's 2nd birthday was coming up, so it was perfect! I started cooking the day before her birthday, because some things had to go in the fridge or freezer. I made Cheesy Pizza Dip, roasted cauliflower, baked beans, Pulled Pork Sandwiches, 7-layer salad and Rich Chocolate Cake for dessert! The cake was pretty firm to me, but everyone said it was the best cake they have ever had. I'm keeping that one in the recipe book!

Making the cake.

Finished!

7-layer salad!

I made egg casserole and cinnamon rolls for her birthday breakfast.

Cold Winter Days

Some winter days here are cold and dark, others are bright and sunny. We get both. And when it is option #2, I go out and take pictures! Winter is a good time to take close-ups, because there is a lot of frost, snow and ice on everything.

Dad and Bennett cutting a squash with a Skil-Saw because it wouldn't cut with a huge butcher knife! Mom wanted to make squash bread.

Snow-shoeing.

....and skiing!

A deer in the snow.

Tilly is always saying that she is "hot" even when it is 10°!! I guess she was born in a blizzard...

Saying goodbye to Grammie and Poppie at the airport. :(
