Snow in Montana

The day after Dad finished the roof, we got 8 1/2-9 inches of snow. Just in time! We love snow and it wasn't a surprise, as the weather app kept giving us the winter storm alert and warned that it was going to be a big one. The next morning we woke up and everything was covered with a cold, white blanket. It was fun while it lasted, but we have a few very nice days since then and now it is back to just being cold!

Raindrops on the clothesline. :)

Warm up to pumpkin soup and rolls!

Playing outside!

Footprints in the snow!

 More snow!

Lots of snow on the kindling can!

The woodpile.

Dad added an awning to our roof off the garage to protect our precious wood pile from the snow. :)

Dad finished the roof on Aunt Maryann's cabin just in time!

I guess I have an obsession of taking close-up pictures of wheat. :)

Dad's Roof Job

Aunt Maryann asked Dad mid-summer if he would be interested in replacing her cabin roof. She purchased the materials and Dad got started. The whole week and a half he did it was the best couple of weeks we have had in a while...in the 60s!! He had his friend Bill Blackford help him, which made it go a lot quicker. The day after they got it done, we ended up with 9 inches of snow and a VERY SORE Dad.

Ripping off all of the shingles...ugh.

Bill was on the ground, (cutting, measuring etc.) and handing stuff up to Dad.

Can you say "beautiful"?!

Thank goodness we got a shingle remover for this job! :)

Preston and Fiona liked to play outside by the cabin while Dad was on the roof...and jump off of the deck. :)

Applying Titanium paper.

The last pretty day for a while.

Frost.

Wheat & Sun. Don't know why I don't like those two features together. :)

Wheat and Electric Peak.

The Burke's came over to our house and we all had our electronic devices...Libby had her iPhone, I had my tablet, Preston had his iPod and Bennett had his iPad! What have we become?!  One big e-family! :)

Finished!

Our New Recurve Bow!

About a month ago, we split firewood for a neighbor and earned enough money to buy a bow.  We ordered a recurve bow from 3Rivers Archery and have had so much fun shooting it. We (Preston, Bennett and I) each got 6 arrows, that are all different colors; I got pink, Bennett got Red and Preston got grass colored (surprisingly he has already lost 4). :) We got a foam target and have already made about a thousand holes in it!

Bennett, taking aim.

Preston.

Me. :)

We made our own quivers out of PVC piping and paracord. We each added our own touch to them and I added colorful duct tape. :)

Electric Peak one evening.

We love our "Apple-Peeler-Corer-Slicer" for making Apple Pies!

A witch's brew of soup!  Actually, this is our favorite:  hamburger soup!
