Jury Duty in Billings, MT

A few weeks ago, my Dad got a letter in the mail that told him he was on call for jury duty in Billings. He had to call in every Friday at 5pm for a few weeks and on the last week, he was called in. Most people would hate getting called in for jury duty, but us....well, we like the word "free". The government paid for the gas, hotel and food. It was awesome! Now that's what you call free!! :) We left Sunday morning, October 21st, and got to Billings at about 1pm. It is 170 miles from Gardiner to Billings and took us about 2.5 to 3 hours. When we got there, the first stop was Cabela's--#1 priority! :) We drove around and shopped a bit before checking into our hotel. The hotel, complete with a pool, was not only very nice, but it was right in the middle of town! Everything was within walking distance or a little drive away. The continental breakfast was amazing and we all had a wonderful time!

Not even out of Livingston...

Bored in the car...

Cabela's, our first stop!

Fishing rod anyone?

This deer had a weird bag thing on one of its antlers...:/

Stoplights--extinct in Gardiner!

We went to Fuddruckers for dinner!!  We saw these ducks right outside the restaurant.

Our awesome room at the Boothill Inn & Suites.

Dad took the car, so we were stuck inside the hotel and watched TV. It was fun! ;)

Watching "I Love Lucy". One of our favorites!

I bought a pink multi-tool at Cabela's....I love it!

Another day in the hotel.

Our room number.

It is rare that we can go to a Sonic...only if we are in the south. But we found out that there is one in Billings!! So can you guess where we went for lunch?? :)

Mom's favorite thrift store: St. Vincent de Paul.

The courthouse in Billings--where Dad served on jury duty.

We ended up staying another night at the same hotel but in a different room.

Another trip to Cabela's. The boy's request. :)

I've always wanted one of these!!!

The night before we made our way home, it snowed. It was beautiful to look at!

The Crazy Mountains, fresh with snow.

Carving the pumpkin!

Preston was the pumpkin-seed-picker-outer. :)

Our new favorite bread....it takes squash and 13 cups of flour and a few other secret ingredients! IT IS SO GOOD!
