Cody, Wyoming!

Part 2!

After visiting the Buffalo Bill Dam &Visitors Center, Cody was just 7.5 miles away. All of the sudden, you're in Cody...it seemed like the visitors center was in the middle of nowhere! We took a spin drive around town looking for a good campground. We ended up at the Ponderosa Campground which was 45 bucks!! We're used to Walmart parking lots--FREE! =) But, it was a very fun campground. We of course got two spots right next to each other AND it was right by a playground which the kids loved. It was in our "backyard"! It was also pet friendly, which we needed for the Koontz's dog, Miller. There were teepees there too, which we visited a lot. The funniest part of our camping experience was when Dad and I planned a sneak attack on Uncle Jeff with the fart machine. :) While they were talking, I snuck up behind Uncle Jeff and placed it underneath his chair. Somehow he discovered it but he went right along with the joke. Aunt Jill didn't have a clue what was happening, which was the funniest part!! The parents were laughing so hard they were crying. HAHA.......

Double awning shade!

Sites #5 & #6--right by the playground.

Dakota and Sierra in the teepees!

A very elegant pose by Dakota. :)

We ate dinner early so we could make it to the Irma Hotel for the nightly shootout.

All of us were entertained!

Is this what happens when you come out of the outhouse?!

After we got ice cream downtown we walked back to the campground with the sunset leading our way "home".

The playground:

Sierra and Preston.

The next morning, Uncle Jeff and I made "Mountain Man" breakfast in their dutch oven. It was super good!!

Dad, drinking coffee. :)

After we checked out, we all drove to Walmart to get a few last minute things. That is where we said our goodbyes....:'(

No dry eyes in this picture.

We headed separate ways: the ol' Sundancer headed back to her retirement home and the Koontz's were Tennessee bound. :( We took the Chief Joseph Highway back home and it was so pretty!! The only thing was it was 8% grade and we even got into 1st gear once!

I went outside and saw this cool web with sprinkler water on it! Once again, I love the macro setting for close up shots. :)

  1. It's so cool to read this post and see the pictures and realize that we are just on the other end of the campground from you guys! And, the kids played together on the playground that last morning! Great post!
