Bozeman Trip

On Saturday, we all got in the car and headed to Bozeman for our huge shopping spree. The sun was out and we thought Spring had FINALLY come!

We had some friends at our driveway before we left...

The first Western Meadowlark of Spring!!!!

We usually have a "dump run" whenever we go anywhere, so we dropped off all of our trash at the dump....the boys are the "garbage men". ;)

My Dad wanted to go to a Christian Conference in Bozeman at Grace Bible Church. The Church was HUGE (compared to ours)!

After the conference, my Dad met a friend at the Mongolian Barbecue Restaurant for lunch. It was really busy!

We did our usual Costco and Wal Mart runs around town.

Mom checks the eggs to make sure that they are not cracked!!

Here is what Matilda did while we were shopping:

My Dad and Mom were given a "Famous Dave's" gift card from the Church when they helped out with the Dave Ramsey class so we went out to dinner there. It was really yummy!

Mom's favorite place to shop is Salvation Army!! She was excited because it was "50% Off Everything" day.

Dad stayed in the car and "babysat Tilly"....;)

The buffalo kept coming this week! We think some of them are pregnant. We keep hoping that one of them gives birth here on the property!

It was cool to see some of them fight!

This morning while we were eating breakfast, my Mom spotted a Coyote across the river, drinking the water. My Dad jumped up and grabbed his coat, cowboy hat and his pistol and sneakily ran across the field and hid behind the hay barrel.....the Coyote didn't see him. Then, my Dad pulled up his pistol and aimed for the Coyote. Dad shot, but he missed the Coyote because he was breathing so hard from running across the field. Plus, the Coyote was facing toward him and my Dad said it would have been better if he got a full body shot from the side..........

The boys were hoping for a Coyote skin rug...;)

Where the Elk and the Buffalo Play!

Today, we had 37 buffalo in our field. They had swam across the river and knocked the fences over at the end of the field. We were worried, because the horses were out of the corral and they had gotten out two times before, because of the buffalo. The buffalo stayed in our field for a while and then they got scared by something and swam back across the river. That would be really cold!!

There were also elk in the field with the buffalo. The buffalo even tried to chase them off!

Bulding a Tipi

Uncle Paul loaned the boys a tipi and said they could try to put it up. So on Monday, the boys (and Dad) decided to give it a try. After they got the tripod tied, they started to pull it up, but the rope snapped. So now they have to untie all the rope and buy a new one.

Today, Jim's Septic Service came and pumped out our septic tank.  P.S. - It smelled AWFUL!

We had a spike elk visit Ginger the horse.

Yesterday, there was a baby elk right outside the boys' bedroom window. I didn't want to scare him, but he walked right up to me! I could pet him, if there wasn't a window between us!

This is the Mama elk:

Yesterday, we had a Buffalo stampede! They ran right over our fences again. My Dad had to go run out there and fix the fence while the buffalo were still in the field......:0

They got scared and swam across the river! I didn't get a picture of them crossing the river because we didn't see them, but we did get a picture of them getting out of the water.

Dad also installed some new can lights in the girls' room. They are really cool!

Billings Waterslides

On March 31st through April 1st, we went to the Billings waterpark and hotel with some of our friends.  They were on Spring Break.  The hotel has a mini waterpark (indoor) and 2 big waterslides.  On one of the waterslides you have to use an inner tube and the other one is just a body slide. They are both really fun!

While we were there, the hotel had an "Open House Buffet" with all sorts of really good food. We were all STARVING after our swim! We went crazy over the red velvet cupcakes!
