Seeing Sandhill Cranes at the Stermitz Ranch

On Monday, Aunt Mauray came down to baby-sit us while Mom and Dad went to Bozeman to have a "work date", where they went to Kenyon Noble, Home Depot, Lowe's etc.  My Aunt took us to Gardiner to get some ingredients for our spaghetti dinner. We saw two sandhill cranes mating in the Stermitz field. When they saw us, they put on a whole show! The male throws a chunk of dirt into the air and then tries to catch it again when it comes back down, to attract the female bird.  It was really cool!

On the way back, we saw 2 geese families with 8-10 goslings. They were so cute!!

We also saw an eagle on the field sitting on a bush. We think he was looking for fish. Dinner time!

Then it flew across the river.

On Monday, Mom and Dad put Matilda on the toilet to see if she would go the the bathroom. Sure enough, she went pee on the toilet! She was so proud of herself. =)

Last night, we all went outside because it was beautiful. Dad was putting in T-posts for the horses so that they could stay on their side of the field. So we went out and helped him. We stayed out until 8:30pm because there was still so much light out and the sky was really pink!

This week, I decided to take pictures of Fiona, like my Aunt Julie taught me. She is a professional photographer and used to take High School Seniors' portraits. Fi was a great model! P.S. - My Aunt Julie says to take off their shoes because "shoes look ugly in a portrait"!

On Tuesday, there was a spike elk in the field. The horses don't like them on their territory!

On Thursday, mom had some flowers that she wanted to get in the ground before it got too hot. So Fiona and mom planted some really pretty flowers in the antique wagon by the front door.

The other day, Peanut (Butter) the kitty, killed a Townsend's Warbler in the driveway. They are really good hunters for birds and mice!

My mom was wanting a high chair for Matilda and she was talking to my Aunt Jill who had just the one from Ikea that we were looking for. Matilda loves to join us at the table!
