Maker's Mark

On April 30th, the day after we left Memphis, we went to the Maker's Mark in Loretto, Kentucky. Mom, Fiona and the baby were all really sick, so they stayed in the RV and slept while Bennett, Dad and I took the distillery tour. It was free and it was really interesting. We walked into a room with huge, two story barrels and it smelled like hot liquor....:) Then we walked around the property of the Maker's Mark and then hit the road, once again. 172 miles until Indy....:)

We had to drive 30 miles off of the Interstate through the country side. It was really pretty!

Inside the museum...

Our tour guide walked us through the museum...

...walking towards the distillery.

At the distillery, it was so loud that the tour guide had to yell to explain everything to us!

These two story barrels were massive! He let you put your finger in and try it....I didn't. Yuck. :)

Our group....

We walked into the warehouse of barrels. They age in there for over 7 years!

This is the packaging station.

Walking back to the lobby where they let you taste test their whiskey.

They also had whiskey-chocolates that the kids got to try, but they were gross!

This is where you can dip the bottle you just bought into red wax....:)

If you have ever been to the Maker's Mark, comment!
